The speed of sound is greater in solids than in liquids due to their molecular structure. In case of liquids the molecules are loosely structured and have less elasticity while in case of solid molecules are compact and have high elasticity due to this the speed of sound is greater.

Sound travels faster in solid more than liquid due to high elasticity of solid molecules.
